The General Church Board and College of Bishops have approved three Way Forward frameworks for distribution across the LCANZ. The three frameworks are entitled Confessional Communities, Congregations Decide and District Alignment.

Way Forward project team appointed
The project team to lead the Ordination Resolution Way Forward project has been appointed. The three-person team of Tim Niewand, Stella Thredgold and Tony Vong, met for the first time on 18 April at the LCANZ head office in North Adelaide.

Six proposals relating to the ordination of both women and men have been submitted for consideration by delegates at February’s in-person sessions of the 20th Convention of General Synod, to be held in Melbourne.

Changes to General Synod
The GCB has agreed to hold the 20th regular Convention of General Synod in two parts: an online meeting in early October 2021, which will then be adjourned until the meeting resumes in-person at a location to be determined in 2022.
