After months of preparation, prayer and practical support, members of St John’s Lutheran Church Unley welcomed a Somali refugee family to Adelaide through the CRISP program. Their story reflects God’s love in action – a love also shared through ALWS as we support vulnerable refugee girls in Somalia.

Last month, Pastor Tanya Wittwer (St Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Adelaide) and Emma Hansen (ALWS Community Engagement Officer) represented the Lutheran Church as part of an ecumenical delegation of women leaders to Parliament House in Canberra to advocate for a greater Australian aid commitment.

To mark its 75th anniversary in 2025, Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) chose a faith-led goal to support 75,000 children impacted by war and poverty with the essentials of a happy, healthy life.
