Church Worker Support

How we serve
We are developing policies and procedures, in consultation with church entities, to establish good service management practices. We can help parishes and congregations contextualise these in their unique mission and ministry settings. We can best support parishes and congregations by visiting and getting to know them. It is wonderful to support and encourage them to continue the practices that are working well. As we serve your church, we can provide resources, and we are happy to work together with you to develop other resources that will enable church workers to grow and go as God’s people. We are adding to these resources all the time, so please ask us how we can help you.
Calls
Access the latest calls information from around the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand via our dedicated page, updated regularly and based on data drawn dynamically from LAMP2.
Employment and Volunteering
Keep up to date with the latest employment and volunteering opportunities around the church. Check back in regularly as job and volunteer listings are updated often.
Wellness Support Program
The LCA Churchwide Office offers employees access to a wellness support program (Empatia). Empatia provides short-term, solutions-oriented counselling and coaching, designed to support you in meeting the challenges and demands of your work and personal life.
Health and Wellbeing
It’s tough keeping up to date with everything changing so rapidly right now. We’ve curated a small collection of resources that might be helpful as you navigate your way through caring for yourself and others.
HRS
You matter to God, and you matter to us. The LCA Human Resource System (HRS) wants to ensure you’re supported both personally and professionally. Our team works hard to free you from excess paperwork so you can get on with the work God has called you to do.
LCANZ Learning Hub
Designed with churchworkers and volunteer church leaders in mind, the LCANZ Learning Hub aims to support and equip people serving the church to do what they are called to do. It provides information, training, links and resources relevant to LCA congregations, parishes and their leadership.
Ministry Reviews
A congregational ministry review is an opportunity for every congregation to ask, ‘How are we going?’ It can be a time to celebrate what has been achieved in the previous year and identify and understand what can be worked on in the year ahead.
Continuing Education for Pastors
To support the lifelong education and development of pastors, the College of Bishops oversees a program of Continuing Education for Pastors (CEP). If you are a current pastor, you may be interested.
Professional Pastoral Supervision
Professional Pastoral Supervision is a regular, protected time for facilitated, in-depth refection on practice. It is a mandatory part of Pastoral work in the LCANZ. It offers people doing ministry a time and space to reflect on their ministry with a trained and accredited practitioner.
