Reflecting Jesus during Lent
Lutheran Tract Mission has many resources for the Lenten season to help you understand and focus on the cross during this time.
Lent is a time of reflection as we focus on Jesus rather than ourselves. But we do reflect upon how our lives are portraying to others the love Jesus has shown to us. It is a time when we are reminded to see our sins in the light of God’s forgiveness and our lives in the assurance of being loved by God through Jesus Christ.
The main symbol of the Lenten season is the cross. That instrument of torture and death has, through Christ, become the symbol of reconciliation and victory. Christian faith knows how the story of Lent ends: suffering becomes joy; death ends in the resurrection. Even though we still struggle with evil, we know God cares. For each of us, the cross reminds us of Christ’s victory over all that hurts. Yes – even death!
The Lenten resources can be accessed on Lutheran Tract Mission’s website.
You could consider having a new tract for each week for your congregation, aged facility, school or family.
