Training Opportunities

LCANZ Learning Hub
Designed with church workers and volunteer church leaders in mind, the Learning Hub aims to support and equip people serving the church to do what they are called to do – to grow and go as God’s people. The Learning Hub provides information, training, links and resources on a broad range of subjects that are essential and relevant for LCA congregations, parishes and their leadership.

Safe Church Training
By providing a Safe Church training program, we assist congregations and other bodies to promote high standards of ethical behaviour and care for all, especially for children and others in vulnerable circumstances. Our training is part of the LCA’s commitment to reflecting God’s love through the way we treat each other and those who come into contact with our church.
Safe Church training is available as self-paced online training or live online webinars.

Campaign Against Family and Domestic Violence
Training for pastors and pastoral workers has been held in all districts of the LCA. It has covered an understanding of domestic violence and the impact on survivors, perpetrators and their children, particularly in the congregational context. It also focused on appropriate first responses, referrals and the role of the Christian community in support and care.
A Prevention of Domestic Violence training module is available on the LCANZ Learning Hub, administered by Australian Lutheran College.

Continuing Education for Pastors
Our Vocational Development and Training Policy sets out the church’s expectation that all church workers have access to development and training activities that support the development of appropriate skills, knowledge and experience to enable and equip them to fulfil the roles and offices they hold effectively and safely.
To support the lifelong education and development of pastors, the College of Bishops oversee a program of Continuing Education for Pastors (CEP).

Australian Lutheran College
Australian Lutheran College is a diverse and welcoming learning community, committed to delivering quality theological education and training that prepares tomorrow's leaders – pastors, teachers, church workers and volunteers – to serve and lead with confident Christian faith, integrity, competence and compassion in a changing world.
