A Special Convention of the General Synod was held online on Saturday 18 October 2025 in accordance with Resolution 21-06 of the 21st Regular Convention of General Synod in October 2024 that a Doctrinal Statement on Ordination be prepared by the Commission on Theology and Inter-Church Relations (CTICR) for submission to an online Special Convention of General Synod in 2025.

Resolutions from the Special Convention of General Synod 2025
On Saturday, 18 October 2025, 300 delegates gathered online for a Special Convention of General Synod established by resolution of the October 2024 Regular Convention. There was good participation from both pastor and lay delegates from across the church in Australia and New Zealand.
