Mission & Ministry
At the heart of Christian living is care and compassion for one another, and not only for those who are our family and friends. Our Lutheran ministry of care is founded on God's love for us, which is the heartbeat of our compassion for others.
We strive to nurture an inclusive missional culture throughout the LCANZ and boost the confidence of members to reach out to those of other cultural backgrounds. We support our districts and congregations in ministering to and with new arrivals in Australia and New Zealand.
The goal of Child, Youth and Family Ministry is to support and equip congregations to move from isolated programs for children and young people to an intergenerational ministry culture that nurtures faith for life.
LCA International Mission works collaboratively with overseas partner churches to bring the life-changing news of Jesus Christ to people in South-east Asia and Papua New Guinea. We seek to equip, encourage, engage in and support the growth of holistic ministry carried out in relationship with our partners overseas and the individuals, congregations and districts of the LCANZ.
We serve the kingdom of God by supporting church planting and missional renewal. We desire to go as God’s people and form missional communities and congregations across Australia and New Zealand. We know that God’s love comes to life when God’s people grow in his grace and go out into the world with his love.
We all have times of difficulty in our lives, and we all know people in our families, friends, communities and in the world who need care and compassion. Pastoral care is about caring for others in the way our Good Shepherd, Jesus, cares for us.
