Faith & Worship
The Bishop’s Office manages functions particularly related to the oversight of the church; in essence, the office exists to serve the pastors and people of the LCANZ. More particularly, it oversees, promotes and supports the services provided by departments of the church to the wider LCANZ in a coordinated fashion.
Worship is at the heart of the church's life. It's here that God serves his people through his holy word and sacraments, and empowers us to participate in mission to his world. The Worship Planning Page is one of the most popular pages on the LCA website. If you plan or lead worship, this page contains all the resources you need.
The Commission on Theology and Inter-Church Relations (CTICR) advises the church on matters of theology and doctrine and studies the theological implications of our relationships with other churches, at home and overseas. It also sponsors our formal bilateral dialogues, currently with the Roman Catholic, Anglican and Uniting churches in Australia.
You might feel, as many people do, that society is changing faster than ethics can keep up. You might have questions about gender identity, immigration, social media, euthanasia, abortion, and caring for God’s creation. Our Commission on Social and Bioethical Questions can help you navigate our changing world, as we keep our eyes focused on God and his word.
All life on this planet has been created by God. Lutheran Earth Care Australia and New Zealand (LECANZ) was established to carry out the prime responsibility of Christians to be responsible stewards of creation.
Lutherans for Life promotes respect and protection for human life, born and unborn. We foster communal responsibility for the defence of God's gift of human life, especially those whose lives others would consider unwanted, lacking quality, worthless or dispensible.
