ALWS BOARD DIRECTOR

Expressions of interest
ALWS Board Director – ordained pastor

Help bring love to life through Christian leadership and service.

Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS Ltd), the aid and development agency of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand, is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of one ordained Lutheran pastor to join its Board of Directors.

This appointment fulfils the constitutional requirement for a serving pastor to be a member of the ALWS Board, ensuring the ongoing connection of ALWS to the spiritual and missional leadership of the church.

Commitment

Attendance at four meetings per year, including two face-to-face meetings
All reasonable expenses will be covered

Essential requirements

An ordained pastor (General Ministry Pastor or Specific Ministry Pastor) currently serving within the Lutheran Church of Australia or New Zealand
Eligible to act as a company director under the Australian Corporations Act or the ACNC Act
Demonstrated commitment to the objectives of ALWS and a heart for serving communities in need

Desirable attributes

Familiarity with aid and development contexts
Lived experience in a developing country
Experience engaging with ethnic or diaspora communities
Insight into faith-based humanitarian and justice work, and the ability to provide spiritual and strategic guidance to the board

LIVESTREAMING OPERATORS

Friends of Lutheran Archives, North Adelaide SA

Friends of Lutheran Archives (FoLA) meets nine times per year to tell the stories of God at work in our Lutheran Church. We are looking for a small team of people – to work in pairs – who could operate the live streaming equipment on a voluntary and rotation basis.

Meetings are held on Thursday evenings at Immanuel Lutheran Church, North Adelaide, for the months of February to October.

Full training will be provided.

OVERSEAS MISSION

LUTHERAN ARCHIVES VOLUNTEERS

Lutheran Archives is looking for volunteers to undertake the meaningful tasks of photo digitisation and data entry/indexing. These opportunities will enable those who want to learn about archival processes and at the same time learn about the history of the Lutheran Church in Australia and New Zealand to join our wonderful volunteering community.
