It’s hard to watch a grown man cry, in the middle of a busy shopping centre, near Christmas time, especially a man in a big hat, boots and a farmer’s checked shirt. This is a reality for a small band of people bringing God’s love to life in the tiny town of Gilgandra in the Central West of NSW.
In a moving show of generosity and Christian partnership, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Myanmar/Lutheran Bethlehem Church has donated three Sundays’ worth of offerings towards bushfire relief through the LCA/NZ.
Myanmar Lutherans are pitching in to alleviate the impact of severe flooding, which has devastated regions of the country since the onset of the monsoon season. LCA International Mission is seeking urgent prayer and financial support from LCA/NZ members.
The homes of at least two LCA members from Townsville were inundated during the North Queensland city’s floods from late last month, in which 1.4 metres of rain fell in just 12 days and at least three people died.
