Truly well
The angel also showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, and coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing down the middle of the city’s street. On each side of the river was the tree of life, which bears fruit twelve times a year, once each month; and its leaves are for the healing of the nations. (verses 1, 2)
Read Revelation 22: 1-11
How are you? I mean – really – how are you? Well and fighting fit? Happy? Sad? Trying to cope with backache?
It would be great if life consisted only of ups and not any downs. But, somewhere along the way, we will all have our downers that will affect us emotionally or physically.
Do you ever stop to consider that, in the middle of whatever life brings you – good or bad – you are actually totally well? Even if you have a bad cold, even if you have a terminal sickness, you are well. Very well. In fact, when you were baptised, you received total healing of your total being.
Sure, colds and flu, depression, even death are still a part of life, but they are merely temporary in their effect on your wellbeing. On the other hand, healing through faith in Jesus will last you an eternity.
Now, how are you – really?
Jesus, I praise and thank you for the lasting healing that has come to me through your dying and rising to life again. Amen.
