Meet our new pastors
Seven new pastors, from a wide range of backgrounds, are stepping out in faith to begin their first assignments in parishes around the church this year.
Their assignments are: Paul Calnan to Holy Cross, Murray Bridge SA; Jing (Jim) Luan to Laidley Ministry Area Qld; Shaun Manning to Naracoorte SA; Peter Noble to Gladstone–Rockhampton Qld; Carl Richter to Mildura Vic; David Seligmann to Gympie Qld; and Lee van Rossen to Whyalla SA.
Queensland District Bishop Paul Smith preached at the ordination service in December on the text Romans 15:4–13, while Bishop Henderson encouraged the ordinands as they prepared to enter the public ministry. ‘Since you have this ministry by the mercy of God, care for God’s people, bear their burdens, and do not betray their confidence’, he said. ‘Give and receive comfort as you serve within the church. And be confident, for God has called you, and your labour in the Lord will not be in vain.’
We rejoice with our new pastors as they take up their role as shepherds of their congregations and we pray God’s blessing on them, their families and the people they will serve.
