Forever and ever and ever
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. (verse 10)
Many high school children are asked what they want to do with their lives. Especially as they get closer to finishing school. When you are at this stage in life you think that you are ten foot tall and bullet proof! I know I did! They think that life will be great and go on forever. It is when you reach twenty five or thirty you begin to realize that this is not the case! Reality begins to set in, life is much shorter than you originally thought.
The writer of Ecclesiastes speaks wisdom, whatever you are going to do, do it! Because it won’t be long and you will be dead. Harsh, I know. But O so true! What are you doing with your life friend? This life will end one day. But the life to come with Christ will be glorious and be forever and ever and ever! Make the most of what time you have. You can make a difference.
What part of your life could use more wisdom?
Lord God, heavenly Father, help me to live each day like it is my last. Help me to make a difference for the better. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
