A hiding place
So all your loyal people should pray to you in times of need;
when a great flood of trouble comes rushing in,
it will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
you will save me from trouble.
I sing aloud of your salvation,
because you protect me. (verses 6,7)
Read Psalm 32
For two years Anne Frank and her family hid in a small secret room in a house in Amsterdam. They were trying to escape the Nazis, who were rounding up Jewish people all over Europe into concentration camps. Their hiding place was discovered when they were betrayed, and they lost their lives in Auschwitz in 1945.
There are times in your life when you need a place to hide. God is your perfect hiding place. He keeps you safe and secure when you feel that your world is spinning out of control. He protects you and rescues you when you feel under attack, when you are threatened by powerful forces that you have no control over. When a great flood of trouble comes rushing in, he’ll stop it from reaching you.
In times of trouble and danger find refuge with God. Trust him to rescue you and keep you safe.
God, be a safe and secure hiding place for me when I am vulnerable and helpless. Amen.
