The checklists below were relevant for the Winter Quarter 2026. They will be updated shortly for the Spring Quarter 2026 and you will be advised via Congregation Leaders eNews. The annual checklists (above) have been compiled by the SA-NT District and have been kindly made available here for use by church councils in other Districts also. Some items might need to be modified to align with the requirements of your congregation's local jurisdiction.
August 2026
Fire safety
- Have your fire extinguishers and other fire equipment been serviced?
- Are there any things you need to do around your properties to get ready for the summer fire season?
Evacuation plans
- Update and publicise your evacuation plans
CCLI
- Complete CCLI quarterly report (if you are using the quarterly reporting model)
Safe Church
- Review volunteer and staff compliance for Safe Church, background checks and referees
Child Safety Standards
- Review Child Safety Standard 7 - More information

These tools are used regularly by people looking for a local church, so it is important that your congregation’s details are accurate and up to date. Take some time to check them now.
Theme and logo unveiled for Synod 2027
The theme and logo for next year’s 22nd Regular Convention of General Synod in Brisbane have been unveiled, with ‘Open Arms’ and its tagline, ‘Receiving Abundantly – Sharing Generously’, celebrating God’s abundant gifts and the church’s calling to receive them with gratitude and share them.

The LCA’s 22nd Regular Convention of General Synod will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland from 1 to 4 October 2027. Information on delegate fees, key deadlines and planning for delegates has now been released to help congregations and parishes prepare.
