Finding a common cause with younger people

As I write these words, I suspect I’m talking to people closer to 60 than 20, and (like me) you long to see young people return to faith. We are faced with a ‘mission’ that calls us (older ones) to cross the generational divide and inspire the next generation. So, let’s unpack this challenge.

Bishops call for day of prayer, church unity
Our LCANZ bishops are calling the people of the church to set aside Sunday 8 October for a churchwide day of prayer focusing on the unity of the church. This is a significant day as it is just a year from the 2024 Convention of General Synod.

Way Forward team completes evaluation of submissions
During July and August around 50 members of the Way Forward team and working groups devoted many hours to evaluating 60 submissions received from church members from across the LCANZ. The submissions were assessed against key criteria set by the General Church Board (GCB) and the College of Bishops

ALC principal plans to return to parish ministry
After nine years serving as ALC’s principal, Pastor James Winderlich has announced his intention to end his tenure at the college by the end of 2023 and return to congregational ministry.
