LCA International Mission
LCA International Mission exists within the Office of the Bishop. We seek to follow our Lord in his mission to the ends of the earth to make disciples of all nations.
We work collaboratively with overseas partner churches to bring the life-changing news of Jesus Christ to people in South-east Asia and Papua New Guinea. We seek to equip, encourage, engage in and support the growth of holistic ministry carried out in relationship with our partners overseas and the individuals, congregations and districts of the LCANZ.
International partners
The Lutheran Church of Australia shares in gospel fellowship with Lutheran churches in Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Indonesia. Some of these nations were once a harvest field where the LCANZ sent missionaries to preach the gospel to the un-evangelised. Now, despite Christians being harassed, imprisoned, or even executed because of their faith, these are areas where churches are active and thriving. Local Christians are sharing the love of Christ and planting churches with astonishing success, very often in places out of reach to conventional missionary methods.
Through our gospel partnerships, with the power and direction of the Holy Spirit, we participate in God’s mission, inviting not-yet believers to have a relationship with Jesus and be baptised into the family of God.
