LAMP2 – LCA People & Organisation Directory
What is LAMP?
LAMP stands for Lutherans in Australasia Members Portal. For many years it has been the LCA’s and LCNZ’s electronic directory. It has been the ‘go to’ electronic resource for people, places and groups across the church. It is, in essence, an electronic yearbook, accessible to authorised people. And, like all things electronic, LAMP needs to be updated, as the database that underpins it is no longer supported. So LAMP2 is on the way. While the project is progressing, it is going somewhat slower than we had timetabled or expected.
What has been completed?
The organisation chart has now been entered into the database. Due to the unique complexities of the LCA and its constituent groups, this took much longer than we had planned for. Once it was entered, the security groups needed changing and updating. This is now complete. When the system is available, authorised users will be able to check their entity's details and give instructions to make or request changes.
What are we working on now in LAMP2?
The ‘people’ applications are being received. We have asked for those that are in leadership positions at all parishes and congregations to complete their personal information and send it to us. Pastors have also been asked to provide us with their updated data. All LCA board, council and committee members will also have their data entered into the system in the same timeframe. We will also be approaching all lay workers, other employees and District leaders.
We will be uploading this data in bulk in late February and early March after an extensive quality-control check of the data. Once this data is checked and ready for uploading, the IT Department will set up/refresh LCA email addresses as required and send details to you to ensure that the right people have access to the Portal and LAMP2.
Anyone who is currently paid via the LCA HRS is already loaded in the system, but we will need to add their volunteer roles.
What will happen next in LAMP2?
The people data will be loaded. The system will be switched from our test database to the live database and then we will send email account details and training materials to all (using LCA eNews and other available contact points).
Who will have access to LAMP2?
Anyone who has an official position (pastors, lay workers, other employees or volunteers) will be able to have access. Other people will be given access based on need or specific request.
How will you access LAMP2?
The LCA Portal (see the top right corner of the LCA website) will be the gateway to LAMP2. You already use this if you are paid in HRS or have access to LCA SharePoint and email webmail. Your LCA email address and password is your key through this gateway. Those who have provided completed documentation will have access.
What do you need to do now?
If you are a pastor, lay worker, or parish or congregation leader, and you have not completed and returned your LAMP2 access form, you must do this now.
Please send your completed form, including appropriate signatures, to LAMP2@lca.org.au for action.
