LAMP2 – LCA People & Organisation Directory
What is LAMP?
LAMP stands for Lutherans in Australasia Members Portal. For many years it has been the LCA’s and LCNZ’s electronic directory. It has been the go-to electronic resource for people, places and groups across the church. It is, in essence, an electronic yearbook, accessible to authorised people. And, like all things electronic, LAMP needs to be updated, as the database that underpins it is no longer supported. So LAMP2 is on the way. While the project is progressing, it is going somewhat slower than we had timetabled or expected.
What has been completed?
The organisation chart is now in LAMP2. Ninety-nine per cent of pastors (active and emeriti) and active lay workers are now in LAMP2. All persons paid by LCA HRS will now be in LAMP2. Three hundred people who fulfil volunteer roles as leaders in congregations, parishes, districts and the Churchwide Office are now in LAMP2. All of these people have access to LAMP2 via the LCA Portal using their LCA email account and password.
We have written the instructions on how to access and navigate the LAMP2 records.
What are we working on now in LAMP2?
We are continuing to process forms from people who have provided their documentation and load their information into LAMP2. We can then provide a LCA email account and LCA Portal access, which gives access to LAMP2. We are contacting those who have provided incomplete data to complete their documentation to allow us to complete the process and provide them with access.
We have recently uploaded the pastor self-assessment files, which are visible only to the individual pastor and the bishops. These have been copied from LAMP (except question 7). Pastors should go in, review the data, update as appropriate, complete question 7 and save the file.
- We are also working on the call system processes and will shortly release the new process to the district bishops’ offices and work with them to implement the new procedures.
- We are working on the statistics with a view of being able to collect this data in early 2020.
- Worship services (dates, times and locations) cannot be added or updated in LAMP2 yet, but work on this stage has commenced. For now, continue to update your worship services information in (old) LAMP, as it is this data that displays on your one-page websites.
What will happen next in LAMP2?
The people data will be loaded. The system will be switched from our test database to the live database and then we will send email account details and training materials to all (using LCA eNews and other available contact points).
Who will have access to LAMP2?
Anyone who has an official position (pastors, lay workers, other employees or volunteers) will be able to have access. Other people will be given access based on need or a specific request.
How will you access LAMP2?
The LCA Portal (see the top right corner of the LCA website) will be the gateway to LAMP2. You already use this if you are paid in HRS or have access to LCA SharePoint and email webmail. Your LCA email address and password is your key through this gateway. Those who have provided completed documentation will have access.
What do you need to do now?
If you are a pastor, lay worker, or parish or congregation leader, and you have not completed and returned your LAMP2 access form, you must do this now.
Please send your completed form, including appropriate signatures, to LAMP2@lca.org.au for action.
