Lutheran Archives last week marked 100 years of gathering, preserving and sharing the records, statistics and stories of the congregations, departments, ministries and individuals of Lutheran churches in Australia and New Zealand.

If your congregation has marked a milestone in the life of your faith community recently, then Lutheran Archives is keen to receive documents and photos commemorating the occasion.

Join Friends of Lutheran Archives on 15 August for the online launch of Enlightened Aboriginal Futures and Sandhill Girl.

The expansive Lutheran Archives collection can now be explored online, thanks to the release of a new website showcasing the close to 2500 linear metres of records held by the archive.

A fixture in many homes and churches across the LCANZ, the ‘Lutheran Hymnal’ turns 50 this year.

With a total weight of almost a tonne and measuring more than 30 linear metres, a precious collection of documents, books, magazines, audio-visual items and photographs that tell the story of the Lutheran Church of New Zealand across 180 years were officially ‘welcomed’ to Lutheran Archives.
