The article reports on two children’s praise and thanksgiving events held in Adelaide (Enfield) and Brisbane (Indooroopilly) during August and September 1983. Children, parents, teachers and congregations gathered to participate in worship centred on the book ‘Sing to Jesus’.

In 1992, the Finke River Mission announced it would take over Yirara College in Alice Springs, continuing its work with Aboriginal students from remote communities through education, boarding and Christian care.

In 2003, The Lutheran featured Shed Men, a grassroots ministry in Geraldton, WA, where men and boys gathered in a backyard shed to build friendships, discuss faith and life, and provide positive Christian role models for the next generation.

For over 80 years we have been using the media of the day to bring the love of God to people in need of hope. Today we produce videos, podcasts and printed materials – but radio is still our most effective way of reaching people. We look back where it started with The Lutheran Hour …
