As members continue to reach out with the gospel, Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burundi is being overwhelmed wherever it plants congregations!

The LCA’s partner churches in South-East Asia have been providing for those in need in the region during the pandemic, thanks to the help of our LCA/NZ family.

Rev Steven Lawrence was consecrated as the fifth Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia (ELCM), a partner church of the LCA/NZ, on 4 July. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the service of consecration was re-designed, as the church sought to meet the new requirement of local authorities.

After identifying a need for literacy training for the Kope people of the Gulf Province in PNG, translation adviser Hanna Schulz and the Kope translation team are planning to build a Translation and Literacy Training Centre.

In years past, missionaries serving overseas visited congregations to raise awareness. Jesus is still being shared among our partner churches and the LCA International Mission website is your ‘on-demand’ mission festival.

In a moving show of generosity and Christian partnership, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Myanmar/Lutheran Bethlehem Church has donated three Sundays’ worth of offerings towards bushfire relief through the LCA/NZ.
