Kids are very different from how they used to be, and yet, kids are very much the same as they always have been.

As part of its ongoing commitment to developing a child-safe culture within the church, the LCA has responded to a child protection paper from the New South Wales Government.

Grow Ministries and the LCA’s Commission on Worship have created children’s addresses to be used as part of worship to engage and encourage the young people in our congregations.

Next week’s LCA General Synod in Sydney will reflect on Australia’s National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse during the triennial churchwide meeting.

With National Child Protection Week held in Australia early this month, Professional Standards Department Manager Tim Ross said it was timely that the LCA/NZ’s General Church Council had recently reviewed the church’s Child Protection Policy.

The LCA will join the Australian National Redress Scheme for people who have experienced child sexual abuse in institutional settings. The decision was made on 15 June by General Church Council.
