Asante! Celebrating Lutheran love coming to life
Flowing from your Lutheran kindness in Australia, amazing things are happening in the world – bringing love and kindness to the world’s poorest. Your international aid agency, Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), wants to say Asante – thank you in Swahili.
Throughout March, ALWS is hosting Asante celebration events across the country, featuring international guest Mary Obara, who leads program work in Kenya and Somalia. Kenya is home to two of the world’s largest refugee camps, Kakuma and Dadaab, and Mary will share powerful, firsthand stories of the difference your support is making for children, families and refugees.
Come along and enjoy:
- Stories – frontline stories told by Mary Obara of the impact you make for refugees in Kenya and Somalia
- Songs – live music from Robin and Dorothy Mann (New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria events) and band Apostle 13 (Queenslad events)
- Sharing – Lutheran hospitality at its best: food, faith and friendship.
There are also several specialised events for women and for teachers.
