Across the LCA, congregations are discovering new ways to serve their communities and share the hope of Christ. Expressions of interest are now open for the 2027 Local Mission Fund grants, with applications closing on 20 August 2026.

Pastors, lay workers and congregational leaders from the LCA’s NSW and ACT District last month gathered for three days of worship, learning and encouragement in ministry at the District’s Mission and Ministry Conference.

Supported by the LCA Local Mission Fund, St James Lutheran Church Hervey Bay’s JAM Kids is a flourishing ministry in which young people are growing in faith and discovering their gifts.

Earlier this year, Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) set an ambitious goal of protecting 1,000 girls from child marriage in Africa by raising funds through its PRECIOUS campaign. Not only was the target reached by late April, but the PRECIOUS campaign now supports 3000 girls!
