Lutheran Tract Mission confirmation and first communion resources
Many of us were baptised as babies and young children, when God named and claimed us for all eternity. But as we grow in faith, it is important to claim this baptism and being a part of God’s family for ourselves. We are confirming the promises made by our parents and sponsors at our baptism. This is now something we believe.
Congregations, pastors and other Christian denominations all do this differently. Some combine first communion and confirmation, and others separate them and offer them to families and people at different ages.
Whatever the practice, it is important that each person claim Jesus’ love and promises as their own. It makes each person’s faith personal, but also public, as it is confessed to the congregation. It doesn’t mean that the gift of grace given at a person’s baptism isn’t valid; rather, it is a public declaration that God is working in and through their life. God is Lord of their life.
Lutheran Tract Mission has many resources for congregations, families and individuals to help teach, learn, encourage and celebrate their first communion and confirmation.
During the refurbishment of LLL and Lutheran Tract Mission buildings, the following resources are available for ordering. The full range of resources will be available in October.
Celebrate the love of a loving Heavenly Father coming to be a personal part of each person’s life. Encourage them with your words and some tracts and pray for them continually.
