From a former hotel to a repurposed nursing home, the LCA’s Churchwide Office has called some unexpected places home. As the LCA prepares to move to its new city location in 2025, we look back at the unique history of its previous dwellings and some of the people who helped shape them.

In the heart of South Australia’s Mallee region, a humble tent has become a place of warmth, welcome and witness. The Mallee Lutheran Parish outreach tent is more than just a shelter at local shows – it’s a ministry of presence and hospitality.

The LCANZ’s Pastor Mark Whitfield had the ‘immense joy and honour’ of leading worship at a conference of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) in the US last month.

Lutheran school principal Ms Jodie Hoff will be the new Executive Director of Lutheran Education Australia from January 2026. The founding principal of Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School in Queensland, Jodie will succeed Associate Professor Lisa Schmidt.

Last month, Pastor Tanya Wittwer (St Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Adelaide) and Emma Hansen (ALWS Community Engagement Officer) represented the Lutheran Church as part of an ecumenical delegation of women leaders to Parliament House in Canberra to advocate for a greater Australian aid commitment.

Lutheran Media recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with a high tea in Toowoomba, Queensland, bringing together more than 60 supporters to reflect on the organisation’s rich history of sharing the gospel through media.
