What would you do if you discovered that you had a caterpillar wrangler in your congregation? Well, obviously, you’d invite them to bring their caterpillars to the Easter Sunday service and talk about what happens to caterpillars.

Rather than waiting for members of their local community to come to their churches over Easter, Lutherans in Canberra have brought Holy Week to life for those they live and work alongside – in a local park.

With the Lutheran Church New Zealand (LCNZ) unable to elect a bishop at its 2023 Convention of Synod, the LCANZ’s College of Bishops has asked the NSW and ACT District to provide oversight for the LCNZ until the next synod in two years.

Human Resources specialist Michael Bowden and experienced business manager Stephen Kroker have begun new roles serving the LCANZ after the departure of long-term members of the churchwide office team.
