Pray that hearts are softened this Christmas season

Dear Lord,

Please help us to fix our eyes on you in these troubled times.

We need to hear those angels declaring, ‘Glory to God in the highest – and on earth peace on whom his favour rests’.

Our hearts break to see Bethlehem overrun with violence and nations like Russia and Ukraine at each other’s throats when the people claim to know you.

We are sad that recent attempts to honour our Indigenous brothers and sisters ended in even more rejection.

Lord God, pour out your grace during this season and help our nation hear the wonderful message of Jesus’ birth.

May your favour rest on every situation where the Christmas message is declared in the coming weeks.
