High tea toasts 80 years of Lutheran Media
Lutheran Media continues to celebrate its 80th year of sharing Christ via the media of the day. More than 60 people attended a high tea in Queensland on 31 August 2025 to give thanks to God for his abundant blessings upon Lutheran Media and its previous iterations, including Lutheran Media Ministry, Lutheran Radio & TV and the Australian Lutheran Hour.
Guests gathered at the Concordia Lutheran College Function Centre in Toowoomba, where they were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and a generous selection of savoury and sweet petit fours.
Anton Prinsloo, principal of Concordia, welcomed guests to the college, and Rev Ben Hentschke, chair of the Board for Lutheran Media, was the guest speaker. Ben shared engaging stories from Lutheran Media’s rich history and spoke passionately about the importance of the outreach ministry.
Throughout the afternoon, images of past directors, presenters, staff, board members and volunteers were displayed on large screens. Guests also participated in a silent auction and raffle, with funds raised to support Lutheran Media’s ongoing work. Among the most popular items were professionally framed prints from former Lutheran Media Scripture calendars.
As a small token of appreciation for their support of Lutheran Media and Messages of hope, each attendee received a thank-you gift containing a journal and pen in a tote bag.
With the final 80th anniversary celebration approaching in November, Lutheran Media warmly invites all to join in giving thanks for eight decades of gospel outreach. A thanksgiving worship service will be held at 9.30am on Sunday 2 November 2025 at St Michael’s Lutheran Church in Hahndorf, South Australia, followed by a light lunch. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate God’s faithful provision over the past 80 years. For more details, visit https://lutheranmedia.org.au/about-us/events/
