Lutheran World Federation General Secretary Rev Dr Anne Burghardt and Regional Secretary for Asia Rev Dr Rospita Siahaan have completed a six-day visit to Australia, meeting with church leaders, worshipping with congregations and learning about the breadth of LCANZ ministry in Central Australia.

During August and September, more than one thousand members and friends of our Lutheran Church have been stepping out all over Australia in ALWS Walk My Way events, walking, strolling, striding or waving (encouraging others) to protect refugee girls in danger of child marriage in Kenya and Somalia.

Twenty-two women discerning a call to ministry, training for pastoral ministry or serving in pastoral ministry gathered at Luther Heights Youth Camp on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from 2 to 4 September for the 2026 Gathering of Women in Pastoral Ministry.

LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith invites church members to attend the forum.

Two groups of former Papua New Guinea missionaries recently had double cause for celebration, as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea (ELCPNG) marks 140 years since the arrival of pioneering missionary Johann Flierl and 50 years since the church declared its autonomy.
