Cultivating young leaders
Are you 18 to 25 years old? Would you like the opportunity to grow as a disciple of Jesus, develop your ability to share the gospel and build relationships with other young adults in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia?
LCA International Mission and the LCANZ’s Grow Ministries have partnered to create Cultivate, a young adult leadership program from April 2024 until February 2025. It includes two face-to-face intensives, online learning, and practical ministry and mission experiences.
Following feedback from the 2015 National Youth Forum, Grow Ministries developed a concept to provide a regular and sustainable leadership program for the youth and young adults of the Lutheran Church of Australia, including a Christian formational leadership course (Grow Leadership). The overarching concept of Grow Leadership was to provide a more accessible means for a wide cross-section of young people from within the LCA and the overseas Lutheran churches with whom LCA International Mission collaborates. The program, run in both 2017 and 2019, was intended to equip, empower, and encourage young people into leadership roles within the church.
In 2024–25, the focus of the program was extended to include discipleship and evangelism and, therefore, renamed to Cultivate. By broadening the focus, it can include those young people who would like to grow their faith and become more comfortable sharing their faith with others (even if they don’t necessarily consider themselves leaders in the church).
The cost is $2,000, and applications close on 29 February 2024.
