Financial Pressure
And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
The LCANZ offers a range of resources to assist you if you are experiencing financial pressure.
Lutheran Media
Dealing with finances seems to be a topic that causes a lot of stress. Our current climate has added even more uncertainty financially, even for people who were previously fairly confident and secure. Financial distress can happen to anyone. It can be caused by losing your job, prolonged sickness, a mental health issue or a relationship breakdown.
Listen to 'There’s no one face of poverty', Messages of hope's podcast to gain some insights into the reality of a real crisis affecting everyday Australians and how to seek help.
Lutheran Media and Messages of hope also offer a variety of videos, podcasts and booklets on the topic of stress.

These include:
- How do we help when someone has one of those life-changing days? – When our friends or congregation members are in times of crisis, we are eager to help. But often when we call, we express our sympathy, and then say, 'Please let me know what I can do!' This may not be the most helpful way to support each other. Here are practical ideas on how to help.
Other LCANZ resources
When a Neighbour Comes Knocking booklet
When a neighbour comes knocking is a resource from the LCANZ's Caring Ministries and contains information about providing crisis assistance in your congregation. It offers guidelines for establishing crisis assistance and ideas for a typical food parcel. It also provides suggestions for managing risks associated with confidentiality, negative behaviour, referral and more.
Responsible investment
Interest in ‘responsible’ or ‘ethical’ investing has grown rapidly in recent years as investors have become more aware of the human and environmental costs of ‘doing business’. Christians have been among the keenest embracers of the concept, because of their concern for the wellbeing of other people and for the world God gave us to care for. The LCANZ developed an ethical decision-making guide called Responsible Investment, which considers ethical investment from a Christian perspective. The Lutheran also published a column on the topic in its Dwelling in God's Word column.
