Child Safety Standards Action Plan
Step 2
The Child Safety Standards Action Plan
You have landed on this page because you have completed Step 1, the Self-Assessment. Well done!
(If you haven’t completed the Self-Assessment, you’ll need to backtrack a bit and do that first.)
The Child Safety Standards Action Plan is a living document to help your congregation improve its child safety capacities and demonstrate its commitment to keeping children safe. It outlines strategies that your congregation or parish council have agreed to implement to fulfil the requirements of the LCA’s Child Safety Standards for Congregations.
The preparation of a Child Safety Standards Action Plan is a leadership obligation, consistent with Standard 1 of the LCA Child Safety Standards: Child safety is 'embedded in the culture, leadership and governance' of the congregation. The preparation, submission and implementation of a Child Safety Standards Action Plan every three years is a requirement for all congregations under the LCA's Child Safety Policy.
Before you start your plan, ensure you have downloaded and read the Child Safety Standards Action Plan Guidelines, nominated an assessor and completed a Child Safety Self-Assessment. Your assessor should have created and shared a link to your Child Safety Standards Action Plan in the online portal.
You can view an example of the final Child Safety Standards Action Plan PDF produced in the online portal below.
