With the Lutheran Church New Zealand (LCNZ) unable to elect a bishop at its 2023 Convention of Synod, the LCANZ’s College of Bishops has asked the NSW and ACT District to provide oversight for the LCNZ until the next synod in two years.

The LCANZ General Church Board and the Australian Lutheran College (ALC) Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Rev Dr Tim Stringer BTh/BMin DMin as the next ALC principal.

Deaf Ministry in the LCANZ has entered a new era, with Julian Mazzeo ordained as a Specific Ministry Pastor of the Adelaide Deaf Community Church (ADCC) earlier this month.

Pastor Andrew Brook was installed as the new Bishop of the South Australia – Northern Territory District of the LCANZ on Sunday (3 September) in a service at Concordia College in suburban Adelaide.

After nine years serving as ALC’s principal, Pastor James Winderlich has announced his intention to end his tenure at the college by the end of 2023 and return to congregational ministry.

Pastor Peter Hage has been elected as the next bishop of the LCANZ’s Western Australia District. The pastor of St Johns Lutheran Church in Perth, he was elected unopposed for an initial four-year term during last weekend’s District Convention of Synod at Duncraig in suburban Perth.
