This week our pastors from Australia and New Zealand have met at Concordia College, Highgate in South Australia, for their General Pastors Conference.

Pastor Stephen Radke has been installed as part of the Finke River Mission in Central Australia.

Supported by the LCANZ’s College of Bishops, Australian Lutheran College has developed a one-off accelerated ministry pathway to prepare candidates aged 40 to 55 for possible ordination as general ministry pastors in 2027.

Pastor Richard Schwedes will be the next bishop of the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory District of the LCANZ.

Staff, students and directors of Australian Lutheran College (ALC) on Sunday (18 February) joined LCANZ representatives and members of St Michael’s congregation at Hahndorf in South Australia to welcome Rev Dr Tim Stringer as the college’s new principal.

With the Lutheran Church New Zealand (LCNZ) unable to elect a bishop at its 2023 Convention of Synod, the LCANZ’s College of Bishops has asked the NSW and ACT District to provide oversight for the LCNZ until the next synod in two years.
