New ministry pathway offered
Supported by the LCANZ’s College of Bishops, Australian Lutheran College has developed a one-off accelerated ministry pathway to prepare candidates aged 40 to 55 for possible ordination as general ministry pastors in 2027.

Three Way Forward frameworks selected
The General Church Board and College of Bishops have approved three Way Forward frameworks for distribution across the LCANZ. The three frameworks are entitled Confessional Communities, Congregations Decide and District Alignment.

Way Forward project team appointed
The project team to lead the Ordination Resolution Way Forward project has been appointed. The three-person team of Tim Niewand, Stella Thredgold and Tony Vong, met for the first time on 18 April at the LCANZ head office in North Adelaide.

Forward together
Since the February Convention of General Synod, the General Church Board (GCB) and College of Bishops (CoB) have met together twice to commence work on Synod’s resolution to explore the possibility of ‘one church with two ordination practices’.

The 20th Convention of General Synod for the LCANZ, held in Melbourne, has come and gone. Delegates came before God each day in worship with listening ears, and with the desire to live to God’s glory in the decisions we made.
