Pastors, lay workers and congregational leaders from the LCA’s NSW and ACT District last month gathered for three days of worship, learning and encouragement in ministry at the District’s Mission and Ministry Conference.

For newly installed New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory District Bishop Richard Schwedes, taking on the role that also includes providing oversight for the Lutheran Church of New Zealand is ‘all about Jesus’.

Pastor Richard Schwedes will be the next bishop of the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory District of the LCANZ.

With the Lutheran Church New Zealand (LCNZ) unable to elect a bishop at its 2023 Convention of Synod, the LCANZ’s College of Bishops has asked the NSW and ACT District to provide oversight for the LCNZ until the next synod in two years.
