Supporting LCANZ members serving in mission overseas is easier than ever, with LCA International Mission offering opportunities to connect with them via internet conferencing.

The LCANZ has a long-standing relationship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia (ELCM) through LCA International Mission. One of the ways the ELCM serves its community is through the Women’s Care & Counselling Centre.

The Lutheran World Federation Council has elected Estonian theologian Rev Anne Burghardt to be its next General Secretary. She will be the first woman and the first Central-Eastern European to hold this leadership position for the global communion of Lutheran churches.

LCA International Mission walks together with our partner churches overseas through support for such projects as the Lutheran Study Centre (LSC) at Sabah Theological Seminary in Malaysia. The centre provides training, conducts research and develops resources, playing a critical role for the region.

With Nepal facing a COVID-19 catastrophe along with its neighbour India, Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) is today launching an appeal for urgent funds towards emergency medical supplies, health care and support for the Himalayan nation.

A record turnout of more than 650 members and friends of our LCANZ family walked or cycled up to 26 kilometres through South Australia’s Barossa Valley on Saturday 1 May to support thousands of refugee children to go to school.
