A long-held hope of the Lutheran churches of Indonesia has been realised with the opening of the Luther Study Centre (LSC) in Pemetangsiantar in North Sumatra.

This year the Lutheran church celebrates 70 years of reaching out in love to people in need through ALWS. Pastor Stephen Schultz says he was privileged to witness the fruit of this work last year at Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya and the way it has helped change people’s lives.

The LCA’s partner churches in South-East Asia have been providing for those in need in the region during the pandemic, thanks to the help of our LCA/NZ family.

The leaders of two global Lutheran bodies have paid tribute to Rev Dr David Rakotonirina, President of Madagascar’s Malagasy Lutheran Church, who died earlier this month from COVID-19.
