‘The Lutheran’ has collected another three awards, picking up two silver and one bronze at the Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) conference dinner, held in Christchurch, New Zealand

South Australia’s Redeemer Lutheran School located in Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley was recognised recently at the Australian Education Awards, winning the national award for Innovation in Learning Environment Design.

Pantjiti Unkari McKenzie from Docker River has been honoured with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her service with the Indigenous communities of the Northern Territory.

The Lutheran Nurses Association of Australia (LNAA) has established a Lutheran Nurse of the Year award. The recipient will be announced each year on International Nurses Day (12 May), beginning next year.

Dorothy Hamilton (nee Nuske) was born in Rainbow, in the northwest of Victoria, in 1926. Dorothy was born blind. ‘Not vision-impaired’, she insists, ‘totally blind!’ 

To mark the new academic year, staff, students and members of the wider church community attended Australian Lutheran College’s (ALC) opening lecture on 25 February 2019.
