Nine Australian Lutheran schools have been nominated as finalists – or Excellence Awardees – in the Australian Education Awards 2021.

Faith Lutheran College, Plainland Queensland, has been recognised as one of the best non-government schools in Australia, after being included as one of the finalists in the Australian Education Awards in the ‘Secondary School of the Year – Non-government’ category.

Wayne Kroker is the Lutheran Nurse of the Year for 2021. Wayne was one of two Queensland Lutheran nurses honoured by the Lutheran Nurses Association of Australia (LNAA) to mark International Nurses Day. Shirley Klinge, of Laidley, Queensland, was honoured with LNAA Life Membership.

LCA/NZ members Chris Halbert and David Mattiske have been recognised in the Australia Day 2021 Honours List.

The Lutheran has received three accolades in the 2020 Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) awards.

Mr Leon Tepper, a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church at Shepparton in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, is the 2020 recipient of the LCA Servant of Christ Award.
