Pastor Nich Kitchen is the new assistant bishop for the Lutheran Church of New Zealand, following the unexpected early retirement of former assistant bishop, Pastor Jim Pietsch.

Lifelong Lutheran and experienced business leader Michael Stolz has been appointed Executive Director of Australian Lutheran World Service.

Late last year Lutheran Archives was faced with the prospect of having no employees for 2022, due to staff leaving to follow new opportunities and director Rachel Kuchel set to go on maternity leave. However, God had the situation in hand, and three exceptionally talented archivists have now joined.

Some Queensland Lutherans would know at least a little about new LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith, who served as their district bishop between 2015 and 2021. But many in our church may not have heard the incredible and inspiring story behind the faith journey of our sixth churchwide leader.
