In a moving show of generosity and Christian partnership, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Myanmar/Lutheran Bethlehem Church has donated three Sundays’ worth of offerings towards bushfire relief through the LCA/NZ.

Our Lutheran family is supporting more than 40,000 refugee children in Africa to go to school, through the ALWS Grace Project. However, many more children need support for their education.

‘Terrible things happen – but we can still feel supported and loved’ (Helen Wurst, Kangaroo Island). LCA members have been at the forefront of community efforts to serve, minister to and offer relief.

LCA congregations which support overseas organisations are now responsible for ensuring their donations get to the right places and in the right way.

South Sudan, Burundi and Somalia are some of the toughest and most dangerous places on earth for an aid agency to work. Yet, through ALWS, our Australian and New Zealand Lutheran family is there.

Myanmar Lutherans are travelling hundreds of kilometres with emergency supplies to alleviate the impact of severe flooding in parts of the country. LCA International Mission is seeking urgent prayer and financial support from LCA/NZ members.
