It’s Reconciliation Week in Australia from 27 May to 3 June and, almost 12 months on from the endorsement of the LCA’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we might ask: ‘Are we there yet?’ Checking our progress, we can see that we have made a start, but there is much more we can do.

Despite a COVID-19 lockdown forcing a last-minute change, Stanley Roberts was ordained in unique circumstances as a Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP) at Papunya in the NT. With LCA/NZ Bishop John Henderson unable to travel due to the snap lockdown, Stanley was ordained by another SMP.

To mark NAIDOC Week (8–15 November), the LCA’s Reconciliation Action Plan office has produced worship and devotional resources, which are endorsed by the LCA’s Commission on Worship.

A new documentary called Wawu Divine Hope about the Lutheran community in Hope Vale in Far North Queensland will air on NITV on 27 July 2020.
