A generous bequest from Alf and Charlotte Stiller is helping preserve Lutheran heritage for future generations. More than $1 million has been distributed through the Alf and Charlotte Stiller Fund to support 25 restoration and maintenance projects at historic Lutheran buildings across Australia.

Two groups of former Papua New Guinea missionaries recently had double cause for celebration, as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea (ELCPNG) marks 140 years since the arrival of pioneering missionary Johann Flierl and 50 years since the church declared its autonomy.

Jodi Brook has been appointed as the LCA’s new Community Engagement manager, overseeing Lutheran Archives, Communications, the Local Mission Fund and the Church House Exhibition Centre.

Since opening in May 2026, the Church House Exhibition Centre in Adelaide has welcomed more than 120 visitors, with its stories, photographs and artefacts sparking meaningful conversations and unexpected connections.

Women discerning a call to pastoral ministry, preparing for ordination or serving as pastors are invited to gather this September for a time of encouragement, worship and shared fellowship. Registrations are now open for the 2026 Gathering of Women in Pastoral Ministry.

After 36 years of ministry, creativity and service, Verena Johnson has retired from the LCA. From pioneering children’s ministry to writing dramas and worship resources, editing ministry publications and supporting church workers across the LCANZ, Verena’s faithful service has blessed countless people in the church.
