While the next round of Child Safe Plans is now not due until 2025, LCANZ Child Protection Project Officer Mary-Ann Carver has encouraged congregational leadership teams to keep working on their commitment to child safety.

The next round of Child Safety Plans are now due in 2025, and a live online format of Safe Church training will be phased in during 2024.

At its meeting in November, the General Church Board provisionally approved a trial framework for a new LCANZ disciplinary system and complaints handling process.

Child-safe churches are always looking at ways to reduce risks to children in both our physical and online spaces.

At its October 2023 meeting, the General Church Board agreed to make some important changes to Child Safety Standards submission timelines. The next round of Child Safety Plans will now be due in 2025.

Some changes are planned for the way Safe Church training will be delivered across the church. Live online training will be phased in during 2024.
