New resource on copyright for music videos and tracks
With many congregations wishing to include music videos in their worship services (including livestreaming), the Commission on Worship has produced a new information sheet on how to manage the copyright issues surrounding music videos.
The information sheet is a supplement to the existing Copyright: A Guide for Australian Congregations. Since the guide was published in 2021, several key changes have occurred, which have made the sharing of music videos a little easier. Congregations still need to take care to abide by copyright regulations, but as a result of the pandemic and the increase in livestreaming and online worship, bands and organisations have adapted to make it possible to use some videos.
This information sheet also contains information about the use of master tracks, which some congregations may find helpful.
You can download the information sheet and check out other copyright information at www.lca.org.au/worship/wpp/copyright
