Australia Day is recognised on 26 January. If your congregation wishes to celebrate, then you can find a set of resources here. There are Ready to Go resources prepared under the Service Orders tab, too.
A short note on celebrating Australia Day:
Australia Day is a secular occasion, and a day for Australians to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and to acknowledge our history. As the body of Christ, our primary focus is on our heavenly homeland. God has called and gathered us as his children, redeemed by the precious blood of Christ and reconciled to him to be citizens of heaven. While we await our Saviour, there are many things we can give thanks to God for as Australians living in this country.
Congregations should be aware, however, that Australia Day is a deeply challenging time for many people. It is not essential for Australia Day to be marked in the worship service if that is not appropriate in the local context, but if it is, it must be handled gently, and with respect.
