Readings - Sunday, 19 June 2022 – Second Sunday after Pentecost, Year C (Proper 7)

Note: There are two sets of first readings (with accompanying Psalms) given for the Sundays after Pentecost: (a) a new semi-continuous set, and (b) a set related thematically to the gospels (as in the earlier form of the lectionary). It is intended that either one of these two sets be used throughout and that they not be mixed.

First Reading:
a) 1 Kings 19:1-4 (5-7) 8-15a Elijah flees and meets God
b) Isaiah 65:1-9 The Lord will punish the rebellious but save those who serve him

Psalm:
a) Psalms 42 & 43 (used together as one Psalm) - a) Psalms 42 & 43 (used together as one Psalm) Antiphon: Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. (Ps 42:5b,6a NRSV)
b) Psalm 22:19-28 - b) Psalm 22:19-28 Antiphon: They will proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn. (Ps 22:31 NRSV alt)
