Readings - Sunday, 11 June 2023 – Second Sunday after Pentecost, Year A (Proper 5).

Note: There are two sets of first readings (with accompanying Psalms) given for the Sundays after Pentecost: (a) a new semi-continuous set, and (b) a set related thematically to the gospels (as in the earlier form of the lectionary). It is intended that either one of these two sets be used throughout and that they not be mixed.

First Reading:
a. Genesis 12:1-9 The calling of Abraham
b. Hosea 5:15 - 6:6 God desires mercy, not sacrifice

Psalm:
a. Psalm 33:1-12 - a. Psalm 33:1-12 Antiphon: Happy are the people the Lord has chosen to be his own. (based on Ps 33:12)
b. Psalm 50:7-15 - b. Psalm 50:7-15 Antiphon: Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving (and pay your vows to the Most High). (Ps 50:14 NRSV)
