Service Orders - Sunday, 27 September 2020 – Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost, Year A (Proper 21).

Here are the resources you need for this Sunday. Please feel free to choose what is suitable for your congregation’s needs.

Seasons of Creation 2020

Churches worldwide are praying for the world from September 1 to October 4. As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common role as caretakers of God’s creation. For a Guide containing liturgy, prayers and ideas for marking this season of prayer, click here.

NCAA Call for Further Prayer and Fasting

This weekend, the National Council of Churches in Australia is calling all people to pray and fast for our nation. You can find more information here. You will find prayer petitions in the Liturgy & Prayer section under the Prayer of the Church.

Returning to Public Worship

As COVID-19 restrictions ease in Australia and New Zealand, congregations are anticipating reopening their church doors and returning to public worship. This will be a time of great thanksgiving and joy! Each congregation will vary on the date of return to corporate worship, depending on their location and size. The following resources are provided to assist congregations and households during this exciting time:
Rite for the Return to Public Worship – The Commission on Worship has prepared a short rite to add to the beginning and end of the service once you are ready to return to public worship.
Growing Faith Moment – Returning to Public Worship – GROW has developed an excellent resource to help households reflect on their worship experiences at home and to prepare for the return to worship as a church community.

Click here for the sign-in sheet to be used for all worship services.

Ready To Go Resources

Please note that the resources below have been prepared for congregations with limited administrative support and represent only one combination of the available service orders, readings, etc. Public Domain hymns have been used for the benefit of congregations without copyright licences. Feel free to make changes to suit your congregation’s context. Every effort will be made to vary the liturgy each week.
